We spent last weekend in beautiful Lake Lure, North Carolina. For those of you who know nothing about Lake Lure, one interesting fact is that it is where Dirty Dancing was filmed. Or at least part of the movie. At least the lake part. I don't know. I do know that the Lake Lure Inn has a Patrick Swayze suite and a Jennifer Grey suite.
Miriam had a high school friend who got married on Saturday and we were able to enjoy a cabin in the mountains and spend time with Miriam's brother Andrew and his wife Cindy. They're always a blast to hang out with.
Sunday we hiked up, down, and around the side of the mountain at Chimney Rock. There were some incredible--did I mention incredible?--views. Be sure to check out the pictures on Flickr. If you want a workout, be sure to strap a 6 month old to your chest while doing all of that hiking. I enjoyed hearing Ian randomly start laughing throughout the day. Being a dad is so cool!

Aww those pictures are great. Looks like a lot of fun. Too bad we don't have nice places around here to tour. Not that we could in this heat anyway, LOL. I'm ready to go tubing again. We went last year, but it wasn't the same without you guys. Tell Mir I like her short hair.
I love the pictures. It's always good to see new pictures but it's just not the same as you being home and seeing you in person. Ian looks like he's a mess! Can't wait till you guys get home!!
