8 Years

Tonight Miriam and I celebrated our 8th anniversary. It almost doesn't seem possible that it's been that long already. Can you believe I've put up with her for that long? OK. OK. Calm down. I know that it's the other way around. Let's not fight.

I must say that being married to such a wonderful person has made life that much sweeter. She is always so loving and supportive. I can't thank God enough for giving her to me for us to spend our lives together. And my adoration of her has only increased as she is not only my wife but also my son's mother. Life is good. (And yes, I purposely wrote son rather than children. For now. Hopefully for a little while.)

Thanks to Ms. Peg and Missy for being so awesome and watching Ian for us tonight. I called Miriam and told her not to cook tonight and just be dressed nice and ready to go for 6. I made reservations for us to enjoy a fine dining experience at Ruth's Chris at Southpark. We definitely don't splurge and spend that much money on a meal very often at all but I wanted to do something special for my special wife.

We each had our own filet and agreed that the steaks ranked right up there with the best steaks we've ever eaten. Be sure to get one of the complements with the steak if and when you ever eat there. You'll be glad you did.

There are so many memories from the past 8 plus years. One that came to mind tonight was that Miriam was on a vegetarian kick when we met and married, but I'm thankful that didn't last. Not only is she now eating red meat but she's gone from well done to medium well to medium plus. That's my girl! I'm teaching her the fine art of enjoying a nice steak. Pink in the middle. Not bloody red. But definitely not overcooked and well done.

Miriam, thanks for the best 8 years or my life. I am excited about having many more.
